Letter from the Board Chair
This past school year saw our largest enrollment and brought home the great need for our services. The growing rate of children who drop out of high school because their English skills are limited is alarming. Mi Escuelita must move forward in its mission to teach English to children and prepare them for academic success. Read more
Two Mi Escuelita Alumni, Two Roads to Success
While most 1st grade students at L.B. Johnson Elementary School in Grand Prairie are concerned with grasping the basic fundamentals of reading, writing and arithmetic, 6 year old Sirena and Sabine Sierra are also spending their early educational career pondering deeper life lesson, such as the uniqueness of being identical twins. Mi Escuelita Graduate Takes the Next Big Step
When Brenda Peña first entered Mi Escuelita Preschool nearly fifteen years ago, she spoke little to no English at all. When she left preschool and entered kindergarten at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Elementary School, Brenda was already reading at a fourth grade level in English. Read more
