Information for Parents
Welcome!
We are honored that you have selected the ‘Passport to Mexico” as your child’s summer program. Your child is in for a treat! We have a fun filled program planned to educate and enlighten your child. Your student will be exposed to the Mexican culture and language during the three weeks.
Days and Times
Monday – Thursday from 9:00 AM – 1:15 PM. Classes will start at 9:00 AM. It is very important that children arrive on time so that they may participate in all the scheduled activities for the day. Your student will be ready for pick up at 1:15PM please arrive promptly. There will be a late fee of $1 per minute charged after 1:20 PM.
Dates of the program
The children will be introduced to the following themes during the program
- July 12th – 15th family and school
- July 19th – 22nd All about animals
- July 26th – 29th Fiesta and recital
Tuition fees
Tuition is due at the time of registration. Payment maybe made in the form of cash, check or credit card. No refunds will be given if you choose to leave the program or if you miss days.
Snack/ Lunch
We will provide a light snack for every child who would like to eat it. Please send a sack lunch with your child every morning when you drop him/her off.
What to wear?
Please dress your child in comfortable and casual clothes, which are washable and suitable for active play. The children may play with messy materials and it is best if they can enjoy their experiences rather than worrying about their clothes. Please send an extra change of clothing (labeled with the child’s name and placed in a Ziploc bag) daily, including a change of underwear in the back pack.
Sign in/out
Parents must bring and pick up the children from the classroom. Parents must sign in and out on the designated form in the classroom.
Medication dispensation
Prescription medications must be in the original containers, labeled with the child’s name, date, directions and physician’s name and telephone number. Only prescription medication which is prescribed more than 4 times per day will be administered administered. No over the counter medicine will be administered. A medication form must be filled out for all medication given at school.
Sick child
If a child displays any of the following symptoms, he/she must be kept at home.
- Fever
- Diarrhea
- Nasal secretions that are thick, yellow or green and accompanied by a fever
- Sore throat with fever
The child may return to school after being fever or symptoms free for 24 hours. If your child develops any of the symptoms listed above while at school we will contact you to come and pick up your child.
Mosquitoes repellent / sun block
Please apply mosquitoes repellent and or sun block before bringing your child to school.
Dance recital
On 29th July your child will participate in an exciting dance recital. All children will learn special choreography for the recital. Each child will dress in a special costume. The recital will start at 11:00 AM and finish at noon. Each child will also receive a certification of participating in the program. The recital is open to family, friends, and the community members.
