Andy Guzman’s journey has come full circle, highlighting the generational impact of Mi Escuelita Preschool and its community. Years ago, Andy was a student there, and his mother was so inspired by the supportive environment that she began volunteering. With encouragement from the staff, she joined the team as a teacher. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree and become a certified educator through Mi Escuelita’s Education Evolution Program, turning her passion into a lifelong career.

Today, Andy is carrying on that legacy. He’s a U.S. Marine reservist who has returned to Mi Escuelita, this time as a teacher. Like his mother, he’s passionate about early childhood education and is currently working toward his associate degree while giving back to the school that shaped his own childhood.

This story shows the profound impact of community support, including the generosity of North Texas Giving Day supporters. The funds raised during this event provide resources and professional development opportunities that make success stories like Andy’s possible. In 2024, the $14,900 raised gave 250 children the chance to thrive and teachers the tools to inspire them. Every dollar helped plant seeds of confidence and opportunity that will grow for years to come.
